I think you definitely have the voice for a podcast. You did a great job breaking down terms. I think your friend was either afraid or embarrassed to define his relationship. I feel like people don't want to define relationships, because they don't want to set themselves up for disappointment. Putting a label on the relationship is almost like giving your crush that "will you like me" letter. You get nervous just wondering if they feel the same way.
